Caring for the Bariatric Resident
Caring for bariatric residents is becoming an increasingly common concern for care home professionals. Often, standard equipment does not have a sufficient weight capacity to cater for bariatric individuals and typical manual handling techniques may not be appropriate. With an increase in bariatric individuals in the UK, the inability to cater for them is becoming a worrying concern for care homes.
At Mangar International we always design our products with both large and small users in mind. All our assistive devices have high weight limits, however we have several specifically designed for bariatric users; the Maxi Lifting Cushion, the CAMEL and the Elk Emergency Lifting Cushion.
