How to use the Elk in 4 simple steps

Step 1

Unroll the Elk and lay it flat next to the fallen resident with the edge nearest the resident folded over. The top of the cushion should be level with and tight up against the resident's waistband.

Step 2

Roll the resident on to the Elk and unroll the folded edge. If required, assist the resident into a seated position using the appropriate manual handling technique.

Step 3

Start inflating the cushion by holding down button number one. When this cushion is full the noise from the compressor will change, you can then hold down button number two, and so on.

Step 4

Keep inflating the cushion until the resident is at a suitable height to stand or transfer. You must make sure the section you decide to stop on is fully inflated before the resident can attempt to move
